Patrick is a tattoo artist, chef, photographer, mountaineer, world traveler and full time gentleman.
As a teen Patrick was always inspired by the craft of tattooing. He was always doodling in class and essentially covered anything he could get his hands on with drawings. Surrounded by many artists during those years a seed had been planted in his heart and years later the seed began to sprout.
After high school patrick went on to study and practice the culinary arts for several years. During his time at the Fairmont jasper park lodge he had discovered an obsession with the mountains and the wilderness they represent. Climbing became a big part of his life and continues to inspire him.
This passion for the wilderness and exploration led him to become a land surveyor. Throughout the long days and cold winters breaking new trail and surviving the elements that seed that had been planted many years ago had begun to grow and grow until there was no other option in his mind.
He had to follow his passion.
The following day he left the wilderness to be reborn in the womb of creativity, thus he began the next chapter in his life.
Patrick started his apprenticeship under Chase Leitner and has since flourished considering a limited art background. His drive and determination continue to expand his abilities and open his creative mind. Since he began this journey into an this ancient art form, he's found true inspiration from his mentor and the artists he's worked with.
Patrick's past experiences have shaped his art and continue to inspire his style. He's always been very fond with geometrical shapes and their correlation with the natural world. Patterns, fractal geometry, the ancient art of mandalas, portraits and geometrical chaos are among his favourite ways to express his creative mind.
Despite his preferred technical style, Patrick has taken his mentors teachings and that of the artists who've inspired his passion to challenge the industry and expand the geometrical style in North America.
"I'm honoured to be apart of this craft and to have the privilege to work with my clients to provide them with meaningful designs that challenge the norm and perpetuate personal growth." - Patrick St-Jean
